Dear
Neighbor,
"Progress Not Politics"
has been the standard that
Patchogue First has lived by
since its beginning in 2001. In
the next decade, our philosophy
will be even more important. As
we have all seen, our national,
state, and county governments
have allowed partisan political
agendas to negatively influence
policy decisions. The strength
of Patchogue First lies not in
our politics, but in our vision
for the future and respect for
the past. In putting Patchogue
first, your elected officials
have been instrumental in Copper
Beech, Bay Village, ArtSpace,
the YMCA, New Village at the
Four Corners, and the upgrading
of our sewage treatment plant.
Each of these accomplishments
has contributed to the
revitalization of our community
along with the Patchogue Theatre
for the Performing Arts, new
restaurants and successful shops
on Main Street.
As Mayor of the Village of
Patchogue, I am fortunate to
have talented, community minded
people working with me; the
Village Board of Trustees and
the Village Court governed by
Village Justice Christopher P.
McGuire. On Tuesday, March 16,
you will have the opportunity to
vote for
three Trustees, and I ask that
you support the Patchogue First
Team. Your vote is critical to
furthering the economic
revitalization of Patchogue
Village and will continue the
vision of making Patchogue
First.
Re-elect Gerard Crean,
Village Trustee: Trustee
Crean has played a critical role
in the economic resurgence of
our Village. As Commissioner for
Economic Development he
spearheaded the planning,
development and implementation
of all major downtown projects
including Copper Beech, ArtSpace,
New Village and the YMCA. He is
a financial advisor whose
expertise and input was
instrumental in our Bond Rating
upgrade from a BB to AA, which
has saved the Village over a
quarter of a million dollars in
interest payments. To quote the
Standard & Poors Report of
January 8th 2010…"The stable
outlook is based on our
assessment of the Village's
participation in the strong
local economy…"
Re-elect William Hilton,
Village Trustee: As
Commissioner for Major Events,
Trustee Hilton is responsible
for the events that make
Patchogue a special place to
live, work and play, including
the Great South Bay Music
Festival, The Battle of the Bay
power boat races and all the
Parades from Memorial Day to the
4th of July and our Christmas
Parade. Trustee Hilton has also
overseen the rebuilding of the
Patchogue Pool and he has been
instrumental in the success of
the Village Sailing Program.
Elect Joseph Keyes, Jr.,
Village Trustee: Trustee
Keyes has served as Chairman of
the Community Development Board,
overseeing their budget and all
major programs. As the newest
member of the Village Board, he
is the Commissioner of the
Department of Public Works. He
met his first major challenge
during the recent blizzard in
December that left a record
snowfall of 27". Quick action by
his crews made our roads clear,
safe and the envy of
municipalities far and wide.
On Election Day, March 16th,
I ask that you support Progress
Not Politics and cast your vote
for the Patchogue First Team...
Justice Christopher McGuire and
Trustees Gerard Crean, William
Hilton and Joseph Keyes, Jr.
Sincerely,
Paul V. Pontieri, Jr.
Mayor, Incorporated Village of
Patchogue
