Dear Patchogue
Residents,
Margaret Mead once said, "Never
doubt that a small, group of
thoughtful, committed citizens
can change the world. Indeed, it
is the only thing that ever
has."
Seven plus years
ago a small group of concerned
people met regularly to come up
with a concept to effectively,
honestly and non-politically
make this Village a better place
for all. Patchogue First was the
realization of these thoughts
and conceptual ideas.
The people who
formed Patchogue First had a
vision of good government and
pro-active goals. We are non
political is a traditional
sense. The decisions and goals
are based simply on what is good
for the residents, not for the
bigger political picture. We are
beholden to no one but the
people who have elected us to
serve their Village with pride.
Patchogue First’s
slogan is “Progress... Not
Politics”
As a founding
member of Patchogue First, I am
proud to say that as a community
activist this organization has
become more then I could hope
for. The progress we have made
has been a direct result of
being able to work as a
grassroots organization with
many different levels of
government.
Thanks to the leadership of
Mayor Paul Pontieri and the
Board of Trustees our village is
going through a renaissance.
Patchogue is everywhere- we are
in Newsday, the New York Times,
Television, Long Island Business
News, and our hometown newspaper
the Long Island Advance.
This administrations hard work
is being recognized. Thank you
all for being a part of this
exciting time in our village’s
history and for your continued
support.
Maybe we can’t
change the world; but together,
we can all make a difference for
Patchogue.
As chairperson of
Patchogue First, I welcome you
and encourage you to become
involved in our organization.
Sincerely,
Patti Kelly
